FAQ | JOSEPH AMARAL FINE ART

What does Limited Edition artwork mean?

A limited edition piece of artwork is part of a fixed number of prints made from the original captured photograph. Once all editions within the run are sold, that print is retired and will never be produced again on any medium.

This inherently makes the artwork more scarce, valuable, and exclusive. You will find the edition number on the bottom right corner of your artwork (i.e. 32/50), along with the artist’s signature.

A hand-signed certificate of authenticity will accompany the atwork to protect the integrity of your investment.

How do I get in touch with someone about the artwork I’m interested in?

All inquiries can be submitted through my contact page here. As the owner and artist, any questions you have come directly to me. No art consultants, no gallery managers, no middlemen. All direct communication from collector to artist.

On my contact page, you’ll find there are two options to get in touch: you may email specific inquiries using the provided contact form, OR you can block off time for a complimentary one-on-one video chat using my new calendar feature.

Deciding to invest in original artwork takes time and I am committed to helping every step of the way.

I have a piece I would like to purchase. How do I submit an order?

Every piece has its own product page within the Shop Fine Art tab. From there, select your desired substrate (ChromaLuxe Aluminum or Lumachrome Acrylic), print size, and add to cart.

We accept all major credit cards. Your payment will be processed using either Stripe, PayPal, or Venmo. All transactions made through my site go through a secure payment system, ensuring a safe and seamless checkout process. As the customer, your personal data and payment details entered during checkout are encrypted before being transmitted. Please read our Privacy Policy for further details.

How long will it take to receive after I submit an order?

Because of the limited nature of the work, every order is considered custom. Typically, both ChromaLuxe Aluminum and Lumachrome Acrylic are produced, shipped and delivered within 21 business days after finalizing your order. Larger works and externally framed pieces may take between four and eight weeks to produce and deliver.

How much does shipping cost?

Nothing! As a thank you for your support, the cost of shipping is on me (this excludes international shipping).

Do you accept returns?

Your fine art investment ships fully insured and custom-packaged in an armored honeycomb freight box. That said, accidents do happen, and artwork can arrive damaged in a rare event. If this occurs, please take photographs of BOTH the damaged packaging and the damage to the artwork itself. Email me with the photos attached, and I will have your artwork replaced ASAP. See Terms of Sale for more information.

Because every order is completely customized for you from start to finish, I do not offer refunds for non-damaged pieces. You have the option to submit a request for a partial refund under an extraordinary circumstance. If approved, a 20% restocking fee and return shipping charges will be the responsibility of you, the customer.

Will my print come signed?

Yes. As an artist of limited edition prints exclusively, all pieces come signed and numbered by me on the lower right-hand corner of the artwork. A certificate of authenticity will be shipped to you separately to provide further legitimacy of the art.

How do I clean my artwork?

Use a clean, microfiber cloth free of tags or plastic (this can cause micro scratches in the surface of the print) for routine care and maintenance. For more serious cleanings, we recommend applying Brillianize to your microfiber cloth and polish.

Both substrates of ChromaLuxe Metal and Lumachrome Acrylic are very resistant to scratching, not completely scratch-proof. Please treat your artwork with care when cleaning.

AVOID using standard household cleaners that include alcohol or ammonia, especially on acrylic fine art finishes. These can damage your artwork.

What are the differences between the two print types you offer?

ChromaLuxe Aluminum and Lumachrome Acrylic Facemounts are two of the highest quality photographic print substrates available but have key differences. You can learn more about them here.

How do I hang my artwork?

The artwork comes shipped with all hanging hardware included. I use the French cleat system, where two of the cleats mount directly to the wall using drywall anchors, which fit securely into two matching cleats already mounted to the rear on your art piece.

I always recommend hiring professional art installation due to the artwork’s high value and large sizes. You can, however, install on your own with two people. If installing yourself, make sure the cleats mount securely to the wall and are snug and centered with the ones on the rear of the art piece.

Please note, Joseph Amaral Fine Art is not responsible for damages incurred during installation.
